New research highlights how schools are shifting toward evidence-based instruction—focusing on phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension grounded in how the brain learns to read. It’s a move away from guesswork and toward practices that give students clearer pathways to success.

Bookworm Central was proud to supply books for the event and connect with so many passionate school librarians who work every day to inspire a love of reading in their communities. We also enjoyed hearing from keynote speaker Marcie Flinchum Atkins, whose insights on storytelling and literacy made the day even more inspiring.
Thank you to the librarians who stopped by to say hello—we loved connecting with you! School & College, Virginia Beach
